How to Overcome Fear:
Friends sound motivated and supportive when they say: It's not that big, it's just your Imagination. Don't be afraid of it. But we all know it's nothing but just a short-term reliever that cannot give us relief for more than minutes or a few hours.
Yes, fear is real. But we must recognize it before we conquer it.
Fear is a psychological state, like worry, tension, embarrassment, and panic, that stems from our negative and unorganized imagination.
IMPACT OF FEAR:
Fear is real, and it's the biggest enemy of your success. It holds you back and strictly restricts you from using your full potential. It stops you from availing new opportunities, causes organic problems, stops you from enjoying the most cherished moments of your life, restricts you from sharing the ideas (thinking- I might sound foolish), scares you from having a logical argument, stops you from sharing the thoughts when you really want to speak in the discussion.
Jack Canfield said Well,
"Everything you want is on the other side of fear".
In short, fear hinders your Successes, love, and laughter, which you deserve.
Fear is the reason why most people can't reach the positions they actually can, live the life they desired all their lives, can't get their dream job, admission to their goal university, and so on.
KINDS OF FEAR:
There are so many different kinds of fear, and there is always a relevant action to it.
Like, Fear of failure
Like, Fear of failure
Fear of people
Fear of failing an exam
Fear of public speaking
Fear of eating in public and so on.
You can even make your own list of fears.
But, there is always an action that can overcome it.
Actions to address the above-mentioned fears can be:
Reframe failure as learning, set realistic goals and break them into small achievable milestones, celebrate small wins, and continue working until you succeed.
Put people into proper perspective. Remember that the other person is just a human being, pretty much like you.
Utilize your time in studying rather than getting worried about it.
Start by speaking in front of the mirror and then make videos while delivering a speech, then speak in front of a small number of people, and when you feel confident, speak in front of the desired audience.
Start practicing from small steps until it becomes a part of your personality. Eat with a supportive friend in a less crowded place to normalize the experience.
Now, what's the cure to it?
Only One Rule (Pen down in your Personal Diaries) can turn your fear into accomplishment. And that is
"ACTION".
"ACTION".
"ACTION CURES FEAR".
As Napoleon Hill said:
"Fears are nothing more than a state of mind".
And Will Smith was once sharing his experience of the night before skydiving.
The night before his first skydive, Will Smith was overwhelmed with fear—unable to sleep, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. But when the moment came and he jumped out of the plane, something unexpected happened: the fear vanished. He felt pure joy, peace, and freedom. That’s when he realized a powerful truth—fear exists mostly in anticipation, not in the moment itself.
As he puts it: “At the point of maximum danger is the point of minimum fear.”
The best things in life often lie on the other side of fear.
PRACTICAL WAYS TO CURE FEAR:
Here are two practical ways to cure fear
- Isolate your fear. Pen down what you're actually afraid of.
- Then take action. There is some kind of action to every fear.
For Example:
You have identified that you are afraid of not getting admission to your desired University [Step 01].
Now, you need to think about what kind of action you can take to overcome this fear [Step 02].
Like, you can gather information regarding the university, the eligibility criteria, important dates, and the fee structure. Then, you can prepare yourself for the test in all possible ways. And appear in the test confidently.
REMEMBER:
Hesitation and not taking action enlarge and magnify fear. These are the fertilizers to fears.
Another important thing to remember is "Fear is nothing more than an obstacle that hinders our way".
So, the best way to overcome your fear is to take action accordingly.
